Te Puke (name of a place during a long journey)
Stuck on the side of a road,
With a head too heavy, chin on the chest,
Burnt out, beaten down by a heavy load,
Upset, depressed, longing for rest.
No will to move on, to look outside of me.
I've had enough, too much, I’m cracked.
But there, holding on, next to me is … she.
Looking half as tough, but as well packed.
With the same heavy load, that we share in fact.
On the side of the road, waiting for me to act.
Absorbing the filth streaming out of my head,
Taking care, making cry, giving love instead.
This little sun, radiating, bright.
Thaws out, warms up, fills me with light.
